SSC 2893 is an early maturing, short day onion developed for the fresh, sweet onion market. It yields predominantly jumbo sized bulbs with a flattened-globe shape and yellowish-brown skins. The bulbs have mild pungency, good sugar levels and a medium storage capacity. Its tops are vigorous and highly tolerant to foliar diseases, particularly to Downy mildew. This variety is cold-hardy and has excellent bolting tolerance. |
